Lifecycle terminology

End of sale

The manufacturer has stopped selling a model. This is separate from the availability of existing stock.

Discontinued

The model is no longer in active manufacture or its range has ended.

End of support

The manufacturer’s support arrangements have ended or changed. Check the relevant model and software.

Legacy hardware

Equipment retained for an existing application or deployment, often alongside newer systems.

XRDepot hardware warranty is separate from manufacturer software, platform and cloud-service support. Confirm these dependencies before purchasing.

More about EOL sourcing

When replacing everything is not the answer

Your software, accessories and training may rely on a particular device. Tell us the exact model and configuration so we can investigate replacement units or suitable hardware options.

Know the lifecycle

Discontinued or end-of-life hardware may have different software support, licensing, servicing and accessory availability. Confirm these requirements for your deployment before placing an order. A sourcing enquiry does not imply manufacturer support or guaranteed supply.

Surplus equipment has value

If you are retiring an XR fleet, we can also review a stock list and discuss a potential purchase.

FAQs: end-of-life hardware

What is the difference between end of sale, discontinued and end of support?

End of sale concerns manufacturer sales; discontinued describes a model no longer in active manufacture or range. End of support concerns manufacturer support arrangements. Existing stock, device condition and software support must be checked separately.

Can you source discontinued hardware?

We can review enquiries for discontinued and end-of-life devices. Supply, condition and software support vary and are confirmed for the equipment available.

Can you help match an existing fleet configuration?

Include the exact model, part number or regional version, quantities and any software or firmware requirements. The team will review available equipment against those details before offering a configuration.

What happens if my requested model is not listed?

You can still submit an EOL sourcing request. Your search is carried into the model field so you can add quantity, condition, destination and any supporting specification. A missing catalogue result is not a confirmation that the equipment cannot be sourced.

Does a hardware warranty include manufacturer software support?

Hardware warranty and manufacturer software, platform or cloud-service support are separate. Check the written offer and confirm software dependencies for your application before purchasing.

Can I sell surplus or retired XR equipment?

Use the sell form to describe the models, quantities and condition or upload a stock list. Include the equipment location, accessories, missing parts and any faults for review.
