Overview

Microsoft HoloLens 2 is a self-contained, untethered mixed-reality headset for commercial deployment. It runs Windows Holographic and combines see-through waveguide displays with natural hand interaction, eye tracking, voice control, six-degree-of-freedom tracking and spatial mapping.

The Commercial edition is used for guided work, training, remote collaboration, design review and 3D visualisation. Microsoft has ended production, so organisations maintaining an existing fleet should validate application and OS requirements, device-management configuration, battery condition, accessories and replacement-stock strategy before purchase.

Microsoft has ended production of HoloLens 2. Microsoft documentation, deployment guidance and hardware specifications remain available for organisations operating existing devices.

Standalone Windows Holographic device; no external PC is required for normal operation. A user account is required. Before deployment, confirm the required OS build, Microsoft or third-party application licences, device-management platform, network access and any organisation-specific identity configuration. USB-C accessories and chargers should meet Microsoft power requirements.
