Magic Leap has confirmed an end-of-sales timetable for Magic Leap 2. Direct sales ended on 31 March 2026, while authorised resellers may continue delivering products to end customers through 31 December 2026, subject to availability and the applicable commercial terms.
For organisations already using Magic Leap 2, this does not mean deployed devices suddenly stop working. It does mean that hardware planning needs to become more deliberate. End of sales, software support, warranty coverage, application licensing and the availability of replacement accessories are separate issues and may follow different timelines.
What has changed?
The most immediate change is the route through which new units can be purchased. As manufacturer-direct availability closes, remaining reseller inventory and secondary-market stock become more important.
Availability may vary by edition, region, condition and included accessories. Buyers should confirm exactly what is being offered rather than assuming every Magic Leap 2 listing represents the same configuration.
Why the timetable matters to existing deployments
Organisations may still need Magic Leap 2 units for several practical reasons:
- Replacing failed or damaged devices in an established fleet
- Expanding an existing deployment without changing platform
- Maintaining compatibility with approved applications and workflows
- Holding spare units for business continuity
- Supporting a phased migration rather than an immediate hardware change
Where a deployment depends on Magic Leap 2, procurement and technical teams should review expected device demand before reseller availability reduces further.
What buyers should confirm
Before ordering, confirm the exact model or edition, region, condition, included controller and accessories, warranty terms, software requirements and delivery timescale.
It is also important to distinguish hardware availability from manufacturer support. A reseller may be able to supply a device after normal distribution has reduced, but that does not extend the manufacturer’s software, licensing or technical-support commitments.
The XRDepot perspective
XRDepot works with organisations looking for current, discontinued and harder-to-find XR hardware. Depending on market availability, we may be able to offer Magic Leap 2 equipment in new, refurbished or used condition, including replacement units and larger quantities.
Every requirement should be assessed individually. A sourcing enquiry does not guarantee supply, and the condition, included components, warranty and lead time should be documented in the formal quotation.
